The Museum of Magic

Welcome to the world of magic and illusions and meet the pioneers, craftsmen and artists of Czech magic. We invite you to see the unique Museum of Magic, full of old-time magical paraphernalia. Only here, on a floor area of about 250 sq. m., can you immerse yourself in the history of magic and chart it from as far back as 1820 until now. This private collection of magical paraphernalia from all over the world is the most extensive collection in the Czech Republic, and is at a European level.

We would like to present an exhibition of magical props, devices, paraphernalia and illusions used by our magician-ancestors and pioneers of Czech magic, a gallery of old-time lithography posters, magic show programs and photographs of magicians. You will learn about dozens of magicians who charmed their audiences in the past and also about contemporary magicians amazing people in the Czech Republic and abroad, in Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands and the USA.

This collection has been put together and is exhibited thanks to the long-term collecting passion of Czech magician and collector Pavel Langer, explorer Libor Štengl, the inspiration of magician and collector Jaroslav Zach, and our cooperation with Margo Grootveld, wife of a former foreign collector. We have created an exhibition covering various areas of modern magic, such as parlour magic, close-up magic, card manipulation, stage magic, mind magic, manipulation, escapology and stage illusions.

Apart from building our private Museum of Magic, we continue to collect, explore and prepare for publishing activities as well. The exhibition has great educational potential. It fosters cultural awareness, inspiration, creativity and motivation.

This unique exhibition of magical props, devices and paraphernalia from all over the world is the most comprehensive and extensive collection in the Czech Republic, comparable to a European level! Here, you can peek behind the scenes of magic skills and learn simple magic tricks to entertain your family and friends.
